Diagnosis
Preparing for a cycle of treatment is the most important aspect of the process before the treatment actually starts. In a detailed consultation we will try to obtain a picture of your situation and that of your partner, to summarise the history of your involuntary childlessness and then determine the necessary diagnostic steps. An individual treatment plan will then be developed on the basis of this diagnosis.
As helpful as fertility treatment is today, it is still a time-consuming process and requires a great deal of patience and perseverance. Above all, the “emotional rollercoaster” between fear and hope can be very stressful.
Despite all the hopes that are raised you also have to face the fact that your treatment might not be successful. To ease your disappointment you should both think about alternative life plans (e.g. adoption).
Adoption or fostering can also give you the chance to become parents. If your chief desire is to love and care for a child, the thought that the adopted child is not genetically related loses importance. Even biological parents only become real parents by caring for their child and tending to its needs.
